You are unique.
There has only been, and will always be, just one of you. No matter how similar you may seem to anyone else, you remain unique. God created you this way on purpose for a purpose that only you can fulfill. If you want to fulfill your purpose, and contribute to the body of Christ as a whole as only you can do, you have to start by recognizing and accepting these two truths.
First, you have to accept your uniqueness and become comfortable with your extraordinary design. You’re not meant to be like anyone else. That means everyone is “weird,” so embrace it. You think and feel in ways unique to you, and therefore your experience, even one shared with another, will shape you differently as well. That also means your relationship with God is special. When His Spirit lives in you, you project God’s image as only you can do. You’re a lantern designed to shine unlike any other and the light of God’s glory radiates through you in a uniquely special way.
Second, you have to realize, every one else is unique too, with their own specific purpose. All of us in the body of Christ have a function. A toe cannot be a lip, a eye cannot be an arm. Even every hair has it’s own place on the body. Recognizing and accepting what makes us different allows us to have grace in dealing with one another. The grace to be merciful and forgiving not only others but ourselves is key to loving one another well.
