Faith, The Unspoken Testimony

Faith is what justifies us before God and honors Him as God. It is a lifestyle that stands out in high contrast to the world around us. It sets us apart as being from a different kingdom and is a testimony that shouts to the world and proclaims the glory of God without ever speaking a word.

This powerful testimony comes from the fact that the walk of faith requires you to face various challenges, and it requires you to step into being uncomfortable. It requires you to trust in God’s strength and wisdom and to not rely on your own ability or understanding. It requires complete reliance upon God.

Whether you step out in faith or not, you will face obstacles and opposition just like the rest of the world does. The Father makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust alike and in the same way the bible promises you will have trials and tribulation in this life, no one is exempted. That said, it also promises that despite those things you can have peace and security, through faith.

Now, this means that faith isn’t about God changing your circumstances but about Him transforming you so that your circumstances don’t change you. So that when things in your life are shaken, you will not be. When confusion abounds and surrounds you, your mind will be clear. When outcomes are uncertain, you will be confident. When situations around you are in turmoil, you’ll be at peace.

I must point out here that it’s a common deception that being at peace and being comfortable are synonymous. Being comfortable means that things are within your power to control and comprehend. It means you’re living a life within the bounds of your own strength, knowledge, and limitations. Being comfortable means you’re no longer growing but rather growing stagnant, and close to dying.

However, being at peace means despite your discomfort and not knowing the outcome, you have confidence in God, assured that He is in control. You’re certain that He is good, and faithful and works all things for the good (not the comfort) of those who love Him and that all things will work out for His good, perfect, and acceptable will.

We must remember that we live for His name’s sake and not our own preferences, after all. So, if you’re walking in faith, you will be nervous and uncomfortable. You will personally be under-equipped and under-powered, BUT if you weren’t, there’d be no reason or opportunity to rely on God and there’d be no need for faith.

If you truly want to be an effective witness for God, you will need to live a life of faith. So, thank God for the gift of faith, as everyone has been given a certain measure, and begin to step out in it. It’s essential if you truly desire to please Him and desire to cultivate intimacy with Him. Prepare to be uncomfortable and nervous but also to be amazed at what He will do in you and through you when you rely on Him completely.
